Bio
Coach Madelynn Woodard brings a multidimensional perspective to Brenau Volleyball, blending competitive experience, communication expertise, and a deep commitment to athlete development. A Brenau alumna, she competed for three seasons with the university’s indoor volleyball program and was part of the inaugural beach volleyball season, giving her a unique understanding of the evolution and identity of the program.
She holds a master’s degree in Communication and Media and specializes in mental performance development, working with athletes to strengthen resilience, self-awareness, and intentional decision-making under pressure. Her coaching philosophy centers on the belief that volleyball is a game of errors and opportunities — and that growth, both on and off the court, is shaped by how athletes respond in critical moments.
In addition to her work at Brenau, Madelynn serves as the head coach of the University of North Georgia’s men’s club volleyball program, where she focuses on building competitive culture and leadership within emerging programs.
During the summer months, she travels as a professional sports photographer, working with organizations such as the AVP, VNL, Major League Volleyball, the Atlanta Vibe, NoezyBuckets, and the United States men's national volleyball team. She has also worked alongside John Speraw, CEO of USA Volleyball. Her experience in high-level competitive environments informs her approach to training, recruiting, and program development.
Madelynn is passionate about developing athletes as competitors and as people. She believes character, accountability, and clarity of purpose are foundational to sustained success — and she is committed to helping Brenau Volleyball continue building a culture that reflects those values.
