MK Jabbia joins Brenau University Swimming
GAINESVILLE, Ga - Head Coach Blaire Bachman and Brenau University Swimming welcome a new addition to their program for fall of 2012, Mary-Katherine Jabbia. MK is a native of Slidell, Louisiana and currently attends Northshore High School were she was a part of the three time state-champion girls swim team. She has received several awards including: "Rookie of the Year," "Most Improved," and the "Coaches Award."

The weekend couldn't have been more exciting for Brenau University Athletics as the swim team put on their most spectacular performance to date and brought home the hardware to prove it! Overall for the weekend, 5 new school records were set, 11 personal best times were established and two conference records were broken. "We are ecstatic with the result of the ASC Conference- 9 top three finishers, new school records and multiple best times! This was a team effort and we are proud to be Golden Tigers. We look forward to what this year's [NAIA] nationals have in store in less than 2 weeks." said an elated Coach Blaire Bachman.

BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College is ready to host the 2012 Appalachian Swimming and Diving Conference Championships this weekend at the new, state-of-the-art Stivers Aquatic Center. In all, 258 student-athletes from the 15-member schools of the ASC will compete on the weekend.

Brenau's Swim Team travels to Barbourville, KY to compete at the Appalachian Swimming Conference Championships, Feb.17-19. The women head into this meet ranked top three in all relays and with impressive individual event rankings - Hannah Boudreaux (1st- 200 Fly, 200 IM & 400 IM); Michelle Billeaud (1st- 100 Back, 200 Back); Julia Ferreira (3rd- 100 Breaststroke, 200 Breaststroke); Lisa Portwood (2nd - 200 free, 500 free); Meredith Barrington (4th- 100 fly).

Michelle Billeaud, FR, Lafayette, LA
Michelle Billeaud has been named Brenau University's "Golden Tiger of the Week" for the week of Jan.30 - Feb.4th. Competing in her last regular season meet against NCAA II Limestone and Converse College, Billeaud made her mark in the Brenau Swimming record books posting a time of (1:01.95) in the 100 Individual Medley. In addition, Michelle took first place in the 100 Butterfly (59.44), crushing the competition. Billeauds best times in the 50 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle, 200 Backstroke and 100 Butterfly rank her top three at the conference level and well within the top 10 at the NAIA National level.
