Montgomery, Al- Playing their third ranked team in a row at the AUM Spring Invitational, the #7 Brenau tennis team made short work of Xavier, La with a convincing 5-1 victory today. The Tigers move their season record to 6-5 with their third straight win and played outstanding tennis in this prestigious tournament. BU dominated the doubles matches with 8-2, 8-0 and 8-2 wins over the #21 ranked Xavier, who drop to 9-6.

Montgomery, Al- The #7 Brenau tennis team evened their season record yesterday with two impressive wins over ranked opponents in the AUM Spring Invitational. The Tigers defeated #10 Oklahoma Christian, 5-4 and came back to win over #15 Lindsey Wilson, 5-3. All six of the teams in the tournament are ranked in the NAIA Top 25.

Tampa, Fl- The Tigers tennis team finished off their tour of Florida yesterday with a match against the top team in the NJCA, Hillsborough Community College, and came up just short by a score of 5-4. That makes three top ranked teams in a row for Brenau and drops their overall record to 3-5. The match was played in extremely windy conditions and despite early leads in both doubles matches, the Tigers were unable to hang on and lost both by identical 9-7 scores. HCC conceded the third doubles match and the #6 singles due to suspension and ineligibility. Hannah Thompson and Jolene Wong won their matches fairly easily to tie the match.

Orlando, Fl- The march through Florida continued today as the Tigers tennis team took on NCAA II #11 Rollins and came up short 8-1 in a match played in very windy conditions, with gusts to 35 MPH. Lyn See Choo had the only win for Brenau, winning her singles match 6-2, 6-4. The usually reliable doubles teams were unable to hold early leads at #1, losing 8-4 and #2, a 9-7 loss. The #3 group was soundly defeated 8-1. The singles matches were closely contested and Eline Nagels came close at #6, losing in a super tiebreaker 10-6.

Melbourne, Fl- The #7 ranked Brenau tennis team squared off today against NCAA II #9 Barry and were defeated 9-0. Barry is currently undefeated and considered a legitimate contender to win the NCAA II Championship. Doubles pair Lyn See Choo and Kate Mazackova played the best match of the day, falling to Pocza/Kashelkina 8-4. In other doubles action, Liubov Orlova and Jolene Wong were defeated 8-2 by Wershel and Fiocca and Hannah Thompson/Eline Nagels went down 8-2 to Stas/Yablonskaya. Barry is now 7-0 on the season and Brenau drops to 3-2.

Orlando, FL- The #7 Brenau tennis team began their annual Spring Break tour today with a stop in Orlando to take on NCAA II Lake Superior State, MI and the Tigers dominated the match, coming away with a 9-0 shutout victory. The tone for the match was established in doubles play as Brenau won all three matchups and continued through singles play as the team from Michigan was only able to win eight games in the six matches. Franklin Springs, Ga- The #7 Brenau tennis team opened conference play today and did so in impressive fashion by defeating Emmanuel 9-0. With the victory the Tigers evened their season record at 2-2 and went through the entire match without losing a single game. In doubles play, Kate Mazackova and Lyn See Choo posted an 8-0 score to start things off and then Jolene Wong/Liubov Orlova and Eline Nagels/Nellie Martirosyan followed suit to give the Tigers a 3-0 lead going into singles play.

Defending National Champions and SSAC foe Auburn Montgomery remains the top rated team, and #17 Lee University and #18 Shorter round out the four teams from the SSAC that are ranked in the poll. Gainesville, Ga- The Brenau tennis team took on NCAA III Emory on Saturday and came up just short in a five hour marathon battle 5-4. The Tigers led the match 2-1 after doubles play after Lyn See Choo/Kate Mazackova defeated McManigle/Dawson 8-1 and Jolene Wong/Liubov Orlova bested Rogers/Wylie 8-3. Eline Nagels/Hannah Thompson lost to Vrabec/Reidenbach 8-2. Emory was able to make up the deficit in singles play by winning four of the six matches to take the win. With the match tied at 4-4 Eline Nagels was locked in a battle with Vrabec in the last match on the court. Eline won the first set 6-2, but could not handle the moonballing tactics of her opponent and eventually went down 6-4 in the final set. The full singles results follows:

Columbus, GA- Two top ten tennis programs faced off today and the homestanding NCAA II #8 Columbus State Cougars emerged with a win over NAIA #7 Brenau University by a score of 8-1. Things started off poorly for the Tigers when they were defeated in all three doubles matches, an area they usually dominate. Two of the three contests went down to the wire, but Brenau came up on the short end as #1 pair Lyn See Choo and Kate Mazackova lost 8-6 and Hannah Thompson/Eline Nagels dropped a 9-7 decision. Nagels (Antwerp, Belgium) came up with the only victory in singles play as the Tigers evened their season record at 1-1. Next up for Brenau will be another tough NCAA program when they face Emory at the Brenau courts on Saturday at 11 am.
