Blaire Bachman - Head Coach
Blaire Bachman enters her first season as Head Coach for the Golden Tigers with the distinction of being the youngest head coach in the nation, as recognized by collegeswimming.com. However, she is no stranger to Brenau or to the swim team. A native of Gainesville, Bachman started her journey in the pool as a swimmer for Lanier Aquatics, where she competed for 14 years and coached seasonally while in college.
In addition to her background as a swimmer, Blaire also worked at the Brenau pool from 2001-2009 as a lifeguard and swim instructor. She also volunteered as Assistant Swim Coach for the Tigers in 2007 and 2008. After graduating from Gainesville High School, she swam at the University of Cumberlands where she was named NAIA Scholastic All American in 2006.
Bachman then transferred to Georgia College and State University where she implemented and coached the GCSU Swim Cats from 2006-2009. She graduated in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in Mass Communications with a concentration in Public Relations.
"I always hoped that one day I would be in the position to help build a swim program and coach athletes on the university level. My goal is to challenge and encourage them to strive for their biggest dreams. My passion for swimming stems from years of personal experience, struggles and rejoicing within competition, and as a coach with both training and helping other athletes reach their goals."
"I believe the best athletes are those that love what they are doing, not just the ones that are the best at competition. Those that exude perseverance, determination and come in everyday ready to give 110%, are the ones who will hold a team together throughout the season."
