Meredith Matthews is back for her third season as Head Coach of the Brenau Volleyball Program and her third overall as a college coach.  After starting as a Graduate Assistant in the fall of 2007, she stepped in to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of the former coach and has steadily developed the players to the point of respectability in the conference.  Matthews actually began her coaching career earlier than most when she coached the middle school team while competing as a freshman at Rockingham County High School in  Reidsville, NC.  She continued to do double duty throughout her high school career, playing and coaching.  After graduation from high school, she started her collegiate playing career at Averett University in Danville, VA, where she suffered a shoulder injury that ended her playing days.  Meredith continued to coach at her old high school, moving into the position of JV coach during her college sophomore year and coaching the varsity team her last two years.  She has also coached Junior Olympic teams for the past five years.  Matthews will complete her Masters Degree at Brenau this fall.
