Blaire Bachman was named head women's swimming coach at Brenau
University in 2010, with the distinction of being the youngest head
coach in the nation, as recognized by collegeswimming.com. Bachman
also serves as head coach of the Brenau Masters Swim Team and
coordinates aquatic programs for the facility year-round.
A native of Gainesville, Bachman started her journey in the pool as a
swimmer for Lanier Aquatics, where she competed for 14 years and
coached for the club team seasonally while in college. Blaire also
volunteered as Assistant Swim Coach for the Golden Tigers in 2007-
2008. After graduating from Gainesville High School, she attended and
swam at the University of the Cumberlands and was named NAIA
Scholastic All American in 2006.
Bachman then transferred to Georgia College and State University where
she implemented and coached the GCSU Swim Club from 2006-2009. She
graduated in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in Mass Communications with
a concentration in Public Relations.
"Brenau is a wonderful place for students to receive a quality liberal
arts education and participate in intercollegiate athletics on a
conference and national level," Bachman said. "I believe our swimming
program has great potential to continue building on the existing
success achieved since the team was reinstated in 2007. For me, the
best athletes are those that love this sport, exude perseverance and
come in everyday ready to challenge themselves."
