The Golden Tigers picked up an important victory today against conference foe Truett-McConnell College. Brenau (9-10; 3-6 SSAC) opened up a huge lead in the first few minutes of the game. 

Due to excellent shooting in the first half at 71% from the field and a blistering 85% from the 3 point line the game was never in jeopardy for the home team! The Golden Tigers never looked back from the opening tip and went into the halftime with a commanding lead at 50-20. The Bears (1-17; 0-9 SSAC) fought back in the second half roaring back with a 20-12 run to get within 14 points. Brenau held the lead; however, and with all players suited up seeing action, finished with a score of 72-55. The Tigers finished the game shooting a season-high field goal percentage of 50%, along with a record high 65% on 11-13 from the 3-point line. 

The Bears were led by Dorreka Faulkner with 18 points, along with Natalie Johnson with 13 and Kelsey Montgomery with 10. Brenau was led once again by sophomore point guard Brittney Wiley with 18. Also in double figures was Tala Black with 11. In an impressive team showing, 11 out of 12 players on the floor for the Tigers scored at least one bucket.

Brenau returns to action on Thursday for an away contest against the #6 NAIA nationally ranked SSAC opponent Lee University. The Lady Flames are currently riding a ten game win streak, an 11-0 conference record and an overall record of 19-1. Game time is set for 6pm in Cleveland, TN.
