The Golden Tigers proved victorious during today's home matchup against conference opponent Southern Polytech with a final score of 77-70. Fueled by excellent rebounding and solid defense, Brenau (8-9; SSAC 2-5) led for the entire game. Southern Poly (2-12; SSAC 1-3) rallied late in the game to cut the score to 65-62, but the Tigers held the advantage and pulled out the win.  
The Golden Tigers dominated once again on the boards, pulling down 51 rebounds to Southern Poly's 29. Brenau's defense also held Southern Poly to just 32% from the field. Leading all scorers was Brenau junior Nikki Reed, recording yet another double-double and setting her career high with 30 points on 11-20 from the field and 80% free throw shooting, 14 rebounds, and 3 assists. Sophomore Brittney Wiley finished with 15 points and 3 assists, while Tatiana Khudiakova also recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 boards. Leading Southern Poly was Ashlie Billingslea with 27 and Dominique Swift with 16. 
Brenau returns to action Monday with a 6:00 p.m. home matchup against SSAC foe Shorter University. Shorter is currently second in the East Division of the SSAC and ranked 21st nationally in the NAIA.
