Columbus, Ga- #15 Brenau and #10 Shorter squared off for the sixth time this season and second time in the SSAC Tournament and the Hawks squeezed out a 3-0 win to advance to the finals and eliminate the Tigers.  This was another great duel between two of the league's best pitchers as Shorter's Libby Munson held Brenau to seven hits and no runs and the Tigers' Anna Maness only gave up five hits.

Brenau actually had a golden opportunity in the top of the sixth when Ellen Black led off with a single, and Maness and Lana Lazar also singled to load the bases.  The Tigers left all three on base, however and ended up leaving 10 baserunners stranded in the game.  Shorter scored all three runs in the bottom of that inning on the strength of a walk, two singles and a double by Munson that drove in two.
The offense in this one was provided by Lazar (2-3), Brooke Bryant (1-3), Ellen Black (1-3), Maness (1-3), Taylor Kelley (1-4) and Sarah Applegarth (1-4).  Brenau will now wait to see if their #15 national ranking will be good enough to secure one of the at-large berths to the NAIA National Tournament in Decatur, Al in two weeks.
