Brenau lacrosse announces the signing of Chrishon Neeley and Sydney Brazle to the 2017-18 team.
The standout defenders both attended North Springs Charter High School in Atlanta, Georgia and are the first teammates to commit to head coach Emily Wetmore.
Brazle, the daughter of Freda and Christopher Brazle, garnered 2015 Defensive Player of the Year and Most Improved Player honors honors for North Springs.
According to Wetmore, Brazle will be a big part of the defensive backline for the Golden Tigers, saying,
"Sydney has a great defensive stick and is a very scrappy defender who never gives up on the ball. She will be a leader on the defensive end come season and I can't wait to watch her grow."
Neely, the daughter of LaShonda and Albert Wilson, was named the 2016 Defensive Player of the Year for the North Springs program. The nursing major was also a member of the dean's list during her high school career.
Wetmore echoes similar sentiments for Neely, noting that, "Chrishon has got a great field sense, slows ball very well and is very vocal on the defensive end. She is a natural born leader and will be a dominating force for us on the defensive end."
The pair marks the seventh and eighth signees of the inaugural Brenau lacrosse program which opens the season this upcoming year.
