Four competitive cheer and dance team members were recognized as 2016-17 Daktronics-NAIA Competitive Cheer and Dance Scholar-Athletes, the national office announced.
Competitive cheer team members Sydney Rhodes, Breanna Hill and Melissa Wintermute joined dance team member Madilynn Peck as scholar-athletes.
"I am so proud of these girls for this accomplishment," said head coach Krista Britt. "They are all dedicated young women to their sport and their academics. It is a testament as to hard they work both inside and outside the classroom."
In order to be considered for this honor, student-athletes must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved junior academic status.
In total, less than 60 student-athletes from each sport met the qualifications and earned this honor.
