Cleveland, GA- The Brenau basketball team broke the school scoring record tonight in a 98-54 win at Truett McConnell and ran their season record to 14-7. Senior Meg Henson (Gainesville) had a double-double with 11 points and broke the school record with 15 assists. She added eight rebounds, including four offensive boards as the Tigers had a season-high 17 offensive rebounds on the night. Ashley Hagans had a big night with 21 points, six rebounds, five assists and five steals and Tori Collins tossed in seven points to go with eight assists and eight steals.
Sarah Ledford had a season-high 15 points to go with six rebounds and Freshman Nikki Reed had a career-high 18 points as all 10 players scored in the rout. Brenau shot a season best .557 from the field and held TMC to another season best .250. The Tigers also forced 31 turnovers with their pressure defense. BU raced out to a 13-0 lead before the home team scored and built a commanding 60-29 halftime lead. The Tigers also had a decided advantage on the boards, outrebounding the Bears 42-27. Next up are two very important SSAC games on Thursday against #17 Southern Poly and Saturday vs. Brewton Parker.
