Montgomery, AL- Senior Vicky Wilson had a big night with 25 points and 10 rebounds tonight, but it wasn't enough as Auburn Montgomery (9-11, 4-5) came away with a big SSAC win in double overtime over Brenau (13-7, 4-5) 83-80. Meg Henson had 16 points, five assists, four rebounds and four steals in her best career effort. Paige Cooper tossed in 15 points to go with five rebounds and four assists and Ashley Hagans had 11 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals. AUM was led by Caitlin Cunningham with 19 points.
The Lady Senators sprinted out to an 8-0 lead before the Tigers got on the board. Brenau shot .226 from the field in the first half and AUM took advantage of their cold shooting to take a 30-23 halftime advantage. The Tigers heated up considerably in the second half, hitting .444 from the field, but a 52-37 rebounding advantage for the home team proved to be too much to overcome. Brenau actually had a 67-61 lead with two minutes to go in regulation, but couldn't hold it as AUM scored on a rebound basket at the buzzer to send the game into overtime. The Tigers will travel to Truett McConnell on Tuesday for a non-conference matchup.
