Gainesville, GA- Former Brenau standout goalkeeper, Jenny England, has been hired as the assistant soccer coach for the Golden Tigers soccer team. England, who graduated from Brenau in 2008 after earning a degree in Psychology, was a four year starter for Brenau beginning with her first season in 2004. While playing for Brenau, England was named the team's Most Valuable Player in addition to being named to NAIA/Daktronics Scholar-Athlete and SSAC Academic All-Conference soccer teams. Academically, Jenny excelled in the classroom and was honored for her efforts in 2007 by both being named the Psychology Student of the Year and receiving an induction into the Psi Chi Honor Society.

Most recently England has been involved with L.A.C.E.S, an organization that develops mentorship based sports leagues for impoverished youth. Her work with L.A.C.E.S. allowed her the opportunity to travel and work in Liberia, W. Africa,  where she was able to use her skills and knowledge of soccer to work with youth in that country. Additionally, she has held several other coaching positions with different organizations- including a coaching stint with Delta HS in Muncie, Indiana where she served as the head goalkeeper coach and an assistant team coach.

At Brenau, England will assist with all aspects of the program. A great deal of her efforts will be centered on recruiting as the Golden Tigers will graduate a significant portion of the team with the loss of this year's senior class. Additionally, she will serve as the head goalkeeper coach where she brings a wealth of experience and will be instrumental in helping to organize the team's off-season development. "Jenny is a huge addition to our program! She not only has the experience and knowledge but she also possesses a very positive attitude and a tremendous work ethic. I know she will be well received by our team members." said Head Soccer Coach and Athletic Director Mike Lochstampfor.
