Gainesville, GA- Senior soccer player Lily Futrell (Savannah) has been named Golden Tiger of the Week for the second time this fall, having received the award for the week of Sept. 30-Oct. 6 earlier in the season.
Futrell scored five goals goals in the Columbia game to lead Brenau to a 6-4 victory last Tuesday. This is the most goals scored in a game by any player in the history of the program and propelled Lily to become Brenau's all-time scoring leader. In two other games last week Lily was the Tigers' hardest working forward and has been double-teamed by the opponents in both, and although she's gotten shots, has not been able to convert them.
Lily was named to the SSAC All Conference team in 2008 and will the lead the Tigers as they enter the conference tournament on Saturday. Brenau will travel to Montgomery, AL to take on Faulkner, a team they defeated in double overtime earlier this season.
